Lemon and Lime Remedy

  • Lemon and lime juices are natural skin lighteners. Squeeze three to four lemons or limes into a small bowl, and apply the juice to your elbows daily after your bath or shower. Leave the juice on your elbows for 15 minutes. Soak a clean towel in hot water, and scrub your elbows. Your elbows will lighten with time. You can also make a cream by combining ½ tsp. of lemon juice and ½ tsp. of glycerin. Apply the cream to your elbows nightly.

Turmeric and Curry Remedy

  • The herb turmeric can also remove black elbow stains. Mix a paste of 1 tbsp. of turmeric and three curry leaves in a small bowl. Apply the mixture to your elbows and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash your elbows in warm water. If taking a bath, apply the mixture before you get in, let it sit for 15 minutes, and simply wash it off as you take your bath. You can also use Mehndi leaves in place of curry leaves. Mehndi and curry leaves are found in most international grocery stores and some health food stores.
TIP: Secret tip is to take half piece of lemon and mix few drops of MUSTARD OIL in it. Rub it on your elbows and you'll definitely see the results :)

  • Take 50 ml. of tomato juice and mix with one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture to the face. It helps to make the skin soft and glowing.





  • Take equal quantities of turmeric powder and wheat flour and make a paste with sesame oil. Apply it to the face to remove unwanted hair.





  • Apply orange juice to the face for smooth and soft skin.





  • Take 30 ml. of cabbage juice and mix one teaspoon of honey in it. This mixture, if applied regularly to the face, helps to keep the wrinkles away.





  • Make a paste of raw carrots and apply it to the face. Wash it after one hour. The skin will become glowing.





  • Regular application of mint juice to the face helps to remove stains.

    Freckles are seen as dark colored spots on the skin. These may be more apparent on the facial skin, especially on or around the nose. Generally, light or fair skinned people are more prone to freckled skin. Freckles get more emphasized on exposure to sunlight.



    There are two basic types of freckles:

    Ephelides - These are flat red or light-brown spots that typically appear during the summer months and fade away in the winter. These types of freckles could be hereditary.

    Lentigines - Lentigines may be small tan, brown or black spot that is darker than an ephelide. This does not fade in winter. This is also a genetic condition.

    How to remove them?

    TIPS:

    Apply sour cream on your face. Do not rinse this mask off completely; gently wipe off with a soft tissue and top it up with a moisturizer.

    Lemon juice is a tried and tested remedy for treating freckles. Apply lemon juice with your fingers on the affected area; lemon juice bleaches the dark spots.

    Regular use of fruit and vegetable masks such as those made with apricots, strawberries, cucumbers and red currant will help lighten freckles.

    Wash your face with sour milk. Lactic acid promotes gentle peeling of skin minus the irritation or dryness.

    Heat honey slightly and apply to face, tap face gently with your fingers. Wash honey off with warm water then rinse with cool water. Stir in a little quantity of wheat germ into the honey before applying.
    Apply parsley juice mixed with equal amounts of lemon juice, orange juice, and red currant juice under your favorite cream will help you keep your freckles invisible.

    Apply odorless castor oil or vitamin E at night before going to bed.

    Dissolve some sugar in the juice of one lemon. Apply mixture to each freckle with a brush.

    Grind yellow mustard in milk and apply to the face during the night. Wash your face the next morning.

    Onions also can be used for removing freckles and age spots. Slice a red onion in half and rub on the spots twice daily. Continue until the spots fade.

    Applying buttermilk on freckles is thought to help in lightening them.

    Mix an equal quantity of turmeric and sesame seeds. Grind in water and apply to the face.

    Take a watermelon, make a hole in its rind and introduce some grains of rice in it. Take out the rice after a week. Grind into a paste and apply on the face.

    To lighten freckles, mash 1/4 cup of unripe currants and mix with 1 tbsp. of unpasteurized honey. Put on freckles and leave on for half an hour. Rinse off with warm water and dab on diluted fresh lemon juice.

    TIP of the Day:


    Take lemon juice, mixed with gram flour Add milk, rose water, carrot juice and cucumber juice,honey , to remove freckles. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off.

    Bee Stings/Bug Bites
    • For a bee sting, apply baking soda compresses- the soda soothes the sting and draws out the stinger.
    • Apply sliced raw garlic, which relieves wasp and bee stings; follow with an ice pack
    • A baking soda compress helps a bee sting; if stung by a wasp, apply vinegar to soothe. 
    Hiccups


  • The only real hiccup cure is one that treats the hiccups for what they really are. Hiccups are caused by the diaphragm spasming. Taking in as much air as possible, makes the lungs expand and push down on the diaphragm. This stretches the diaphragm out to it original position and shape. Hold the breath as long as possible, just don't pass out, and let it out. Voila', no more hiccups. It works every time.





  • For hiccups, try a spoonful of peanut butter
     


    Headaches
    • Cut a lime in half and rub over forehead and temples.

    Hangovers


    • Drink a glass of milk before you go out drinking, and a glass of drink before bed; also eat before you go out.
    • Take 2 advil before going out, 2 before bed.
    • Eat breakfast the next morning with glass of tomato juice if you have nausea

    Warts

    • To get rid of a wart fast, use nail polish (preferably colorless so it cannot be seen). Wart shoud be gone in a week.
    • Another wart remover is to use duct tape on warts on your feet for 7 days...I just heard that one! Also, I just heard that if you go in your yard and take a dandelion and break it open, dab the milk from the dandelion on the wart

    Sore Throat

    • Gargle salt water for a sore throat

    Insomnia

    • If you cannot sleep, eat spaghetti; it relieves tension.
    • Heat up a glass of milk in the microwave and drink

    Ear Infections

    • Use lemon juice in your ear for an ear infection
    • Hydrogen peroxide works for me. Drop a few drops in the ear and lean over to let it sink in ( it feels really cool too). It actually feels like it is working. I do this a few times a day and it gets rid of it quickly!
    • For ear infections, especially swimmers ear, you can clear it up by putting a few drops of rubbing alcohol into your ear and draining it immediately a few times a day. It's better to do this to both ears after a swim to prevent the ear infection completely. I've had two terrible ear infections and I use alcohol every time I swim now. Do this at the first hint of ache or itchiness in your ear.

    Bowel Problems

    • To rid diarrhea, heat a cup of milk in microwave (not to a boil) and drink.
    • Drink lots of water for diarrhea because diarrhea dehydrates you; also, eat rice
    • For cramps or stomach aches, eat a banana. The pain should be gone in about 10 min.
    Constipation
    • Swallow a table spoon of olive oil for constipation
    • Eat Fig for constipation 
    • Another great tip is to take a cup of warm milk and mix a teaspoon of oil or ghee in it
    • This helped me a lot, DRINK AS MUCH WATER AS YOU CAN; and eat an apple, that worked for me!

    - Mash 1/4 banana or 1/2 avocado until it becomes creamy. Spread the cream all over your face. Leave for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Banana is a wonderful anti-wrinkle ingredient while avocado is a natural rich moisturizer.

    STRAWBERRIES: 
    Not many people are aware that strawberries contain natural teeth whitening agents and the seeds work great for cleaning. Since they also contain sugar and acids, it's important to brush immediately afterwards with a fluoride toothpaste. For easy and quick application, you can either rub the strawberry against your teeth, or mash it up and use it like toothpaste.


    WOOD ASH:
    It may sound strange but hard wood ash helps whiten teeth. It contains potassium hydroxide, a compound that will bleach your teeth. The tiny crystals scrape off plague in hard to reach places and will scrub them clean. However, using wood ash often or scrubbing too hard can damage your tooth enamel, so it's best to avoid using it for long periods of time.

    6. Let your hair get dry naturally. Using too much of hair dryers and other electronics can ruin your hair.


    7. One of the best and tested way to grow hair  faster is to have it trimmed regularly. A small trim to get rid of split ends will make hair grow faster.

    15.  Aloe vera is also a good herbal treatment to grow hair fast, long, and healthy. Simply rub a fresh open leaf over your scalp and hair. Leave on for an hour then rinse off. Do this daily for thick, long, and healthy hair.

    1- Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods:


    You need more than 40 different nutrients for good health, and no single food supplies them all. Your daily  food selection should include bread and other whole-grain products; fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, poultry, fish and other protein foods.


    2- Breakfast is the key to stay Young and Healthy: 


    Do you know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day?
    Most people give a variety of reasons for not eating breakfast. A common reason is that they are not hungry in the morning, which is a result of eating a full meal late in the evening or late snacking. When they go to bed, the body is still busy digesting all that food. 

    In the result, if you skip breakfast in the morning you may find yourself tired, dizzy and irritable and that your concentration is poor. It may take you longer to carry out tasks or you just might not feel to do anything.


    3- Eat moderate portions:


    If you keep portion sizes of your food reasonable, it's easier to eat that food and stay healthy. Most of all it helps food to digest fast.
     

    4- Eat slowly:


    It's a wonderful way to savour your food and to eat less. Start by putting your fork down between bites, chewing a bit more or cutting food into smaller pieces.


    5- Eat regular meals:


    Skipping meals can lead to out-of-control hunger, often resulting in overeating. When you're very hungry, it's also tempting to forget about good nutrition. Snacking between meals can help curb hunger, but don't eat so much that your snack becomes an entire meal.
